Catch Up On Me

Blog 3: A Third of the Way Through My Journey Well. I'm going to be frank. Nothing has really improved, noticeably. Obviously, I haven't gotten worse, but I'm still practically just as good as I was on the last blog.      So today, I will just be speaking on what I've done to get to the position I'm at now. Answering questions like how did I keep my spark lit, or why didn't I quit, or why I'm not going to.            The first instrument I ever used was a grand piano. (other than a kids drumset.) It was brown, giant, rustic, old-fashioned. It looked awesome. My mind took interest immediately. I loved it. I even wrote a few licks that I thought sounded nice, which I would just repeat and repeat. My mom took notice. and so, at the age of 7, I was in piano lessons.      I hated it. Every moment. Being told what to do. Rushing to complete assignments. It sucked! Here is my opinion on music lessons; do em if you want to, ...

Practice Makes Perfect

I'm Gaining Speed! Practice really does help, guys... Let's talk a bit more about my skill level. I've been playing guitar for about 4 years, and I'm able to play simple songs just by hearing them. mot of the time I do not need sheet music. I can identify all notes on the fretboard, but there's still room for improvement. Here is a link to something I've been working on for the past week or so. You can thank my childhood YouTube channel.     Recently, I learned how to play harmonics all around the fretboard. If you don't know what that means, a harmonic...

I Am What's Next!  When is it my turn on stage? Hello friends! My name is Sebastian, and I've  got a sweet spot for music around the world. It's been with me since day 1. Before birth. The time was near March of 2006. My mother was still pregnant. Arcade Fire's "We Used to Wait" was playing on the radio. Still one of my favourites to this day. My body was exciting. I  could feel the vibrations pass through her stomach. Yet somehow, I'm  still terrible at dancing.      What was my inspiration?  Mainly my father way back then. I remember he tried to introduce me to the guitar at a super early age. the first song he tried to teach me was Come As You Are by Nirvana. I was around 8 at the time. I failed. Gave up immediately. After moving homes we bought a new house and decided to rent out the top floor to one of my step-dads close friends, Dhani. (My parents divorced when I was 3.) Dhani moved in with a bass that he left in our basement. I was in...
